THE CYCLE Upon arriving at Justin Hammer’s nuclear power plant, Spider-Man is confronted by Dr. Octopus. Spewing quirky insults, Spider-Man fights his hardest against the multi-armed super-villain. Unfortunately, Dr. Octopus gets the best of Spider-Man and launches him out of the facility onto the pier where a squad of police officers confronts him. Interfered by the investigating S.H.I.E.L.D. officers, Spider-Man makes a daring escape by plunging into the water and manages to lose the pursuing S.W.A.T. team. At the Parker residence in the basement, Peter watches the news as they blame the incident at the nuclear power plant on Spider-Man. Peter is very frustrated about the blatant lies the media spreads about him. Mary Jane patches up the injured super-hero and shares a passionate kiss with him. She assures him that everything will be all right and goes off to take care of her own homework. Peter, considering hanging up the super-hero act, is startled as he hears Aunt May arrive home. Unfortunately for Peter, he is still in his Spider-Man costume and Aunt May is slowly coming down the stairs to check on him.
